Historic Urban Neighborhoods of Indianapolis

Glenn Blackwood, HUNI President

Welcome to the Historic Urban Neighborhoods of Indianapolis' website

On this site we strive to share the vitality of Indianapolis' urban communities and more deeply involve those who are interested in them. We'd like to be the portal you use to find what's happening amongst the historic neighborhoods around Indianapolis. If you're new to the Indianapolis area or wishing to relocate to a historic neighborhood, we'd like to be the place you visit to get a feel for the vibrancy, character, and location of historic residential areas. Look to our calendar section for home tours and special events hosted by historic neighborhoods, to our news page for current events and legislative updates, to our resource page for important links, and to our neighborhoods page for the broad range of historic communities within Indy.

Historic Urban Neighborhoods of Indianapolis (HUNI) is an advocacy group supporting the preservation, revitalization, and interests of Indianapolis' urban historic neighborhoods. To be eligible for HUNI membership, neighborhoods must be recognized as being historic either nationally by their listing on the National Register of Historic Places and/or locally by the Indianapolis Historic Preservation Commission (IHPC).

So, if you'd like to help us on our journey, please bookmark our site and visit us often. Tell friends about it. We look forward to seeing you return to the HUNI site!
