Blood, Sweat and Tears: Creating a Place Called Home

Indiana Landmarks, Storytelling Arts of Indiana, and Historic Urban Neighborhoods of Indianapolis are sponsoring one of the 2016 Spirit and Place presentations entitled “Blood, Sweat and Tears: Creating a Place Called Home.” The program features four people sharing their stories of creating different homes, lasting approximately 10 minutes each. From 6:30-7:00 p.m. Landmarks provide a cash bar, light snacks and Indiana Landmarks Center tour.  Stores run from 7-8pm. Storytellers include Garry Chilluffo, resident of the St. Joseph Historic District and President of Historic Urban Neighborhoods of Indianapolis (HUNI); David Williams, early resident of Lockefield Gardens; John Watson, developer of Stadium Lofts (formerly Bush Stadium); and Judy O’Bannon, former First Lady of Indiana and owner of a historic barn near Corydon converted into a residence. After the featured storytellers members of the audience will be invited to present their own stories for 1-3 minutes. The format for the program will be casual.  The main storytellers will present from the stage.  The audience participants will use a cordless microphone and will talk from the floor.
