Irvington Luminaria
Benton House - 312 S Downey Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219
For generations, cultures around the world have celebrated the Christmas holidays with luminaria –lanterns made from candles in small paper bags. For more than 30 years Historic Irvington has marked the holidays with luminaria on the Sunday before Christmas. You're encouraged to take a moment to slow down and explore one of Indianapolis' most beautiful neighborhoods decorated with these simple lanterns. Luminaria displays will be throughout Irvington transversed by Washington Street between Emerson and Arlington Avenues on Indy's eastside. If you're unsure how to best view the luminaria, here's a general map you might consider following.
