Norquist: Urban Freeways

Indiana Landmarks Center - 1201 N Central Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202

Indiana Landmarks presents John Norquist, former mayor of Milwaukee, sharing insights on urban interstates & livable cities. The talk is free but requires a reservation. During his tenure in Wisconsin politics, Norquist led efforts to remove the city’s elevated freeway and replaced it with a more quality-of-life friendly boulevard. Under his leadership, the city revised its zoning code and reoriented development around walk-able streets and public amenities such as the 3.1-mile river-walk.

Doors open with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m., followed by Norquist’s talk and Q&A, 6-7:00 p.m.

Visit the Indiana Landmarks website for more background on Norquist or to RSVP for the program. You may also RSVP by calling Indiana Landmarks at 317-639-4534.
