Location East side
As part of George Kessler's Park and Plan Strategy for Indianapolis, Brookside Park was established in 1898, situated just north of the Brookside neighborhood. The park's 20,000-square-foot family center, designed by the firm Harrison and Turncock, was built in 1928 and still stands today. Originally home to many German and Irish immigrants, the Brookside neighborhood features houses that are over a century old. The community remains vibrant, anchored by two schools and three churches. Today, Brookside is experiencing a resurgence of energy, with new growth driven by local businesses along Brookside Parkway and 10th Street.
